4-year-old Lyzer and his mum Tanelle have been enjoying using the Family Room recently after Lyzer visited for a routine blood transfusion as part of his treatment for Leukaemia. With a resultant high temperature, Lyzer needed to stay a little longer to get well.

They all enjoy their time in the Family Room, having cups of tea together, playing board games together and even putting on a load of washing. The Family Room makes it possible for the whole family to come together and take a break from the clinical environment of the ward and just relax, and play.

Lyzer wants to be a chef when he grows up and loved playing with the toy kitchen in the Family Room. His family were so thankful for the support provided to them in the Family Room they even brought in a home-made Banana Cake for the volunteers.
