For Warners Bay family, the Jennings, 2019 was a tough year. Their eight-year-old son, Lucas has a medical condition which meant for over three months of the year he was either in a wheelchair, using crutches or on bed rest. When one member of the family is sick or injured, it can take a toll on the whole family.

But for the Jennings family, things started to look up thanks to the recommendation of their medical team to apply for a stay at the Family Retreat in Forster. The family arrived at the beautiful Retreat for their weeks' free holiday. Luckily, Lucas's mobility had improved and he was able to play games, go fishing on the pier by the Retreat and enjoy all the things little boy's do when they are on holidays.

"Having time off to relax and be a family is so priceless. We've been able to leave everything behind and enjoy the week. It's done us all a whole world of good.

The time and effort the volunteers put in. The thoughtfulness of all the donors and sponsors who make it all possible for families like ours is incredible. It has made the whole week something to remember always."
