Krissie and Storm
At 32 weeks pregnant and feeling 'off', Krissie from Narrabri went for what she thought would be a quick visit to the midwife. With the doctors worried about both Krissie and her babies health the visit turned into an unexpected trip to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for an early delivery.
Krissie welcomed her little man, Storm, into the world just under a week later. He was tiny but perfect.
As baby Storm arrived a little early he needed to stay in hospital a little longer. Krissie was able to have a “home away from home" at Ronald McDonald House, Newcastle until she and her new born could be transferred closer to home to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital where they stayed together at Ronald McDonald House in Tamworth.
With Storms dad, Jason, their other children and extended family back in Narrabri Krissie found comfort in having a place to call home.
“The feeling of ‘home’ and support you get at Ronald McDonald House made a huge difference during the seven weeks Storm and I were away from our family. It’s more than just a house that’s for sure!”
